Food Review: Swati Snacks | Ellisbridge |
Swati Snacks is a place that needs no introduction. A warm and cozy place serves authentic, unique, and lip-smacking Gujarati food. It also serves other fast food but it is well-known for its distinctive Gujarati items.
It is always crowded because it has huge fan-following – so be ready to wait for some time before your number comes. I’m sure it is a wait worthwhile. The staff is courteous and kind and does guide you with menu.
On my recent visit, here’s what I tried:
- · Sabudana/Sago Khichdi & Dahi
Well, this dish once again needs no introduction. A light, fluffy, and yummy meal. With basic spices, this dish stands out because of its simplicity. Combining it with curd makes it an awesome meal for anytime of the day.
- · Methi Bajri Roti – Batata Vatana Shak
Methi Bajri Roti is a heavy bread made from fenugreek and Indian spices that makes it a spicy and heavy meal. It was served with potatoes and peas accompaniment. Together, it was a beautiful dish. The roti was heavy and tummy filling and the accompaniment along with it made it a full meal.
- Veg Dhokla
This was on their special menu for the day. It was the regular and traditional Dhokla but with a dash of vegetables. It looked lovely. My eyes ate it first then my stomach. It was a highlight and truly appealing dish. The green vegetables along with lentils made it a healthy and yummy dish.
